Organic Flowers arrive at Roundhouse Barns

Filed under: Roundhouse Barn News,Supporting Cornwall — roundhousebarns @ 2:58 pm

Barbara was fed up with buying supermarket flowers (she never wants to arrange another carnation!) every week for the cottages and Bed and Breakfast so a little bit of investigation and good luck has found us Susanne of the Blue Carrot at Portscatho.

Susanne grows all her own flowers organically in her polytunnel and now brings them to Roundhouse Barns every week. So now our guests seeĀ  beautiful cottage garden flowers. They even smell delicious as often dill or mint are included in the arrangements.

Keeping them alive all week involves a little bit of work as they need fresh water every couple of days, but its so worth it for such beautiful and natural looking displays.

After a trial run in the cottages we are now using them in the Bed and Breakfast as well, so wherever you stay you will see them and not only are they organic, they only travel around four road miles to get to us. How green is that?

Love the way the organic ethos is paramount to you at Roundhouse……the flowers are always a pleasure, now they are local and organic is a double treat.

Look at those while we scoff (sorry, eat daintily) our scones via Mark and his enviable skill at making them, and the very non-fattening clotted cream. Ooooooooooooooh!
