Travel Options

Whilst the majority of our guests use their own car to visit cornwall, there are a number of other options which are worth considering - especially if you have a loathing of sitting in stop-go traffic on our motorway network.  Here are a few other ways which might help take the stresses and strains out of getting to Cornwall.  Some of them offer a greener option as well.

Fly to Newquay and pick up a hire car

You can fly to Newquay airport (40 minutes by car from us) from a number of UK airports.  These include:

  • London Gatwick,
  • London City,
  • London Stansted,
  • Bristol,
  • East Midlands,
  • Manchester,
  • Leeds Bradford,
  • Newcastle,
  • Glasgow,
  • Edinburgh,
  • Dublin, and
  • Cork.

Click on the link below which takes you to Air Southwest's website.  The earlier you book your flights, the better the price.

There are two car hire companies that operate from Newquay Airport - Hertz and Europcar/National. Come out of the arrivals hall and both offices are on the right hand side across the forecourt.

Let the train take the strain

if you wanted a relaxing journey - and view some of South Devon's best coastal scenery while you're at it - you can also take a train direct to Truro and pick up a hire car from the train station.  Click on the link to the left for the National Railways website.   You can get some amazing value train deals if you book suficiently far in advance.  When you arrive at Truro train station, the Hertz' office is just alongside Platform 1.

Helicopter arrivals!

There is a helipad on the Roseland owned by the Nare Hotel.  If you were wanting to significantly reduce your travel time, and take in some stunning scenery alog the way, then you might want to charter an helicopter.  A company called Tiger Helicopters can pick you up and deliver you to The Roseland. We'll gladly arrange a hire car to be ready at the Nare's Helipad.
