It’s well worth spending a day there to understand and experience its natural beauty.
West Cornwall has the key mining towns of Redruth and Camborne. For beach lovers, there’s Marazion, Penzance, Mousehole, Sennen, St Ives, Hayle and Portreath.
The scenery is simply stunning. Heathland covers the granite outcrops and the area is scattered with remnants of an incredibly ancient heritage. The coastal path here is stunning, if a little challenging in places. We’re about half way through walking the entire West Cornwall coastal path! It’s hard work, but your efforts are rewarded.
The video below hopefully gives you a taste of West Cornwall.
Perhaps the most famous town in West Cornwall is St Ives. When the sun shines, the waters are aqua-marine in colour and the whole place resembles the Mediterranean. Parking in St Ives can be challenging in busy months, but there’s a great park and rail shuttle service that runs from Lelant Saltings. We think it’s one of the prettiest rail journeys in the UK. The video below will give you a taster of St Ives.
