Local suppliers of meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, diary products and ready meals
We try to source as much of our B&B and self-catering supplies form the following local producers/suppliers. We encourage all our guests to support these suppliers:
A R Day (Portscatho) - Butcher from whom we source our sausages, bacon, hogs pudding and (occasionally) eggs for our B&B breakfasts
Wing of St Mawes (St Mawes) - Fish Monger who delivers all sorts of fish to order to our doorstep
Lillie Brothers (Falmouth) - Delivers the majority of our diary products to our door: milk, clotted cream, butter, organic natural yogurt, fruit juices and bread
D S Hendy (Helston) - Delivers the majority of fresh fruit and vegetables to door for our B&B and own consumption
Curgurrell Farm Shop (Portscatho) - A great place to buy home grown vegetables. The main attraction is the fish that they catch themsleves. We tend to buty our crab, lobster and sole from Charlote and Simon
Humfreys Farm Shop (Tregony) - Great farm shop selling locally grown fruit, vegetables and meat
Lobbs Farm Shop (Heligan) - Super Fram shop stocking a range of Cornish produce. Sells its own meat which is wonderful. Well worth a visit just to look around the place. We stock up wioth their goodies when we are in that direction
Truro Farmers Market - Every Saturday on Lemon Quay in Truro, where local producers sell there goods ranging fom meat and fish to honey, cheese and fruit and vegetables
Boddingtons Berries (Mevagissey) - We source all our preserves from here: strawberry jam, raspberry jam, blackberry jam and marmalade. Well worh a visit to watch thejam making process

Hall for Cornwall - Our main venue for everything from opera and ballet to rock concerts and west end theatre productions
The Eden Project - A magical venue for open air concerts in the summer. Everyone from Oasis to KT Tunstall has played at Eden
Minack Theatre - Fantastic open air theatre perched on cliffs above Porthcurno beach
Sailing, kayaking and days out on the water
Mylor Sailing School -boat hire and tuition available
Loe Beach Watersports -boat hire and tuition available
Roseland Paddle and Sail - boat and kayak hire and tuition
Cornwall Power Cruises - does what it says in the wrapper! Available for private charter, a huge power boat
Orca Sea Safaris - a great 2-3 hours in a rib to explore the coastal wildlife, birds and if you're lucky, dolphins, basking sharks and seals
St Mawes Kayaks - take half a day and paddle at leisure up the Fal estury
Enterprise Boats - board and take a cruise form Falmouth - Truro
Fal River Links - stops at a number of places up the Fal estury for you to explore
Extreme Academy - at Watergate Bay does everything from surfing to parasailing and everything else in between! Not for the faint hearted.
Pubs and restaurants
The Roseland Inn - our local and a favourite of ours. Serves a mixture of sea food specials and meats. Vegetarian food always available
The Victory Inn - a lovely pub/restaurant tucked up a side street in St Mawes
The Rising Sun - has a good reputation for fish and chips and crab sandwiches
St Mawes Hotel -bistro-style food overlooking St Mawes harbour
The Tresanton - classic food, impecable service, great wine menu. One for special occasions. Great views over the Fal estuary towards St Anthony's lighthouse
The Kings Head - one of our favourites for good quality food. Always plenty of seafood specials. House signature dish is duck in pepper sauce.
The Plume of Feathers - a great venue for traditional pub grub
The Quarterdeck - views to die for and food that matches it. High quality food and great service. For special occasions.
Austell's - great restaurant in Carlyon Bay. Has 2 AA rosettes for fine dining.
The Lugger - lovely food, superb location in Portloe. In Johansenn's Hip Hotels guide
Tabb's - stunning food in the centre of Truro
Indaba Fish - great new arrival serving fish in Truro's centre, close to Lemon Quay. Does pre-theatre menus of you're going to the Hall for Cornwall
The Pandora Inn - great location and fine bar food
Trengilly Wartha Inn - super location with equally matched bar food
The Smugglers Inn - ideal venue for a pasty or a cream tea on the Fal. Lots of D-Day memorabilia close by. Eccentric service adds to the enjoyment!
Fifteen Cornwall - Jamie Oliver's cornish restaurant. Great food, super value lunch menus overlooking Watergate Bay
The Seafood Restaurant - Rick Stein's restaurant on Padstow. Superb fish with prices to match
The Alba Restaurant - one of St Ives' finest fish restaurants occupying the former lifeboat station
The Porthminster Beach Cafe - another great venue in St Ives. Overlooks Porthminster Beach and serves fantastic food at a fair price. Bottles of wine served in beach buckets!
