Supporting Cornwall Wildlife Trust

The Cornwall Wildlife Trust was set up to safeguard Cornwall's natural environment and associated wild flora and fauna. We decided to become supporters as so many of their ideas were in tune with ours - many of you know how we feed the birds and have left some areas of the garden for natural plants and flowers to ensure we attract the local wildlife.

The Trust also manages 55 nature reserves across Cornwall - we have placed books and leaflets in the cottages and B&B for you so you can see where they are and what makes them interesting. Our nearest reserve is the tidal mudflats and salt marsh at the Fal/Ruan estuary - here you can see greenshanks and black tailed godwits. Many molluscs, crustaceans and worms live in the mud and create a rich estuarine ecosystem. it's a fascinating and beautiful area - just make sure you check the tides and keep to the paths though!

When our new on-line booking and payment system is operational, you can also help the Trust's work by making a voluntary donation.  For every pound our guests donate, we'll match it!
