Cornwall Attractions

Cornwall has an array of attractions to offer visitors. Being situated in the heart of Cornwall, at Roundhouse Barns, you are never too far from any of Cornwall's great places to visit.

There are a huge number of fantastic Historic Houses maintained by The National Trust and English Heritage - and some of the best are close by us:

  • St Mawes and Pendennis Castles
  • Lanhydrock House
  • Godolphin House
  • St Michael's Mount

Some of the country's best gardens are also close by and are well worth a visit:

  • Trewithen Gardens
  • The Lost Gardens of Heligan
  • Trelissick Gardens
  • Trebah Gardens
  • Glendurgan Gardens
  • The Eden Project

Close by there are also a selection of museums and galleries, notably:

  • The National Maritime Museum at Falmouth
  • The Royal Cornwall Museum
  • Barbara Hepworth Museum
  • Tate Gallery at St Ives

There are also a host of Independent Art Galleries that specialise in selling the work of local artists.  Click the local galleries link to find out more about which galleries are exhibiting what work at present.  One of our favourites is Tregony Gallery on Fore Street in Tregony.  It's a small friendly gallery showing a variety of art that is of a refreshingly high standard.

If you want to experience a theatre like no other, a definite MUST is the open air Minack Theatre perched high on cliffs above Porthcurno beach.

Given Cornwall's mining heritage, a visit to the Geevor Tin Mine at Pendeen is also a must.

Closer to home (just to the east of St Austell), there's the delightful fishing harbour of Fowey.  It's full of quirky shops, has some great local walks and a number of good pubs and restaurants.  Visit-fowey.com is a great website for tourist information.  It includes summaries and descriptions of visitor attractions, events and local accommodation.
