What’s it all about?
Watergate Bay’s biggest event, award-winning GWR Polo on the Beach, is returning with a new three-day format for its ninth year. The spectacle has attracted thousands of people each year since 2007 to watch a showcase of world-class polo, equestrian displays and family entertainment.
Spectators can expect delicious food and drink and live music alongside polo matches with international players and spectacular stunt displays. Previously a two-day event, GWR Polo on Beach has been extended to take place on Friday 26, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June, and is free to attend. Polo matches will be played at 6pm on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 with other arean and beach entertainment taking place throughout the day. Sunday 28 June will be a more family orientated day including horse and dog displays.
On Saturday 27 June the beach will play host to the first ever GWR Polo on the Beach party with International DJ Krystal Roxx and live music. A selection of street food vendors, a Champagne Airstream and beach bar will be open throughout. Tickets can be purchased online at www.watergatebay.co.uk/polo
Watergate Bay’s Will Ashworth said: “Polo on the Beach is always a major highlight for us, and we’re planning our biggest event to date for 2015.
“Around 10,000 people joined us last year to watch international polo players take to the sand. We saw some brilliant family entertainment on the beach with lots of opportunities for the public to get involved, and this year spectators can expect even more.”
